Job Description
This position reports to the Engineering Department and is responsible for creating all drawings in SolidWorks for prototype development and existing products. Key duties include examining current products for tolerances, testing them for fit and functionality, and providing necessary information to Production, E-Production, and Quality Control (QC). This role also requires operating a laser engraver for marking and etching fished products (training will be provided). Additionally, it requires the ability to answer technical and application-related questions from the Technical Sales team.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed SolidWorks drawings as per the instructions and specifications provided by the Engineering/Production Departments
- Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes
- Ensure final designs comply with quality standards
- Collaborate with engineers and Technical Sales Reps to understand and implement project objectives
- Check drawings for mistakes and inaccuracies
- Follow project schedules and deadlines
- Maintain organized work files and project documentation
- Operate the laser engraver to precisely mark specific products, ensuring high-quality and accurate results
- Design and produce 3D printed components, utilizing advanced 3D printing technology to develop prototypes and parts for various applications and order fulfillment
- Assistance with general Engineering Department needs
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Proven work experience as a Draftsman or Engineer
- Proficient knowledge of SolidWorks and other drafting tools
- Excellent technical design skills
- Detail-oriented mindset
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Self-starter and willingness to contribute to and test new ideas
- Diploma in Drafting, Engineering, or related field
