Technical Sales and Support Scientist
Job Description
As a Technical Sales and Support Scientist, you’ll play a dynamic role combining technical sales, customer support, product development, and testing/validation. Your responsibilities include interacting with customers, troubleshooting technical issues, attending trade shows and conferences, and contributing to our technical knowledge base.
Major Job Functions and Responsibilities
Technical Sales and Customer Support
- Engage with customers to provide technical information and recommend suitable products.
- Possess a commercial mindset, driven to win new business.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of our product line and capabilities.
- Articulate and sell the technical aspects of our portfolio.
- Prepare formal quotes for customers.
Development of New Products
- Collaborate on developing new products, meeting immediate customer needs, and expanding our product line.
- Collaborate with customers to determine precise specifications and communicate this information to engineers and production managers.
Tradeshows, Conventions, Seminars, and Webinars
- Represent V&P Scientific effectively at public events.
- Present our product line and discuss how specific products benefit customer applications.
Applied Research
- Design and execute experimental projects to test new and current V&P Scientific products.
- Document findings in reports and blogs to provide customer information and promote products.
- Develop validation assays for quality assurance and data gathering.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biological or biochemical sciences.
- Minimum four years of laboratory bench experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of scientific principles.
- Ability to work independently.
- Detail-oriented and highly motivated.
Desired Experience
- Demonstrated laboratory bench experience.
- Knowledge of life science, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or laboratory automation fields.
- Proficiency in DNA, Protein, Bead Purification, Next Generation Sequencing, Compound Library Screening, and Assay Development.
