DOCKING STATION, for Disposable Pin Tools, accommodates both standard and deep well versions. The cutaway sides on the docking station allow for robotic grippers to come in from the top or side to pick up the disposable pin tool. By using the grippers to drop a disposable pin tool onto the docking station prior to performing the pin tool operation, the beveled edge will locate the disposable pin tool to the same position every time. This will ensure that the disposable pin tool is always picked up in the same location, which is very critical when working in a 384 format.
Disposable Pin Tool System Overview
We offer a Disposable Pin Tool System, either manual or robotic, that can transfer liquid from/to standard and deep well 96-well microplates and standard 384-well microplates. Each pin of the Disposable Pin Tools is either sterile or non-sterile (VP 246, VP 246A, VP 246A-NS, VP 246-NS, VP 248, or VP 248-NS) and delivers ~ 130nL.
The manual version of the Disposable Pin Tool System requires a Manual Adaptor (VP 240 or VP240A), a Loading Jig (VP 242 or VP 242A), a Library Copier™ (VP 244 or VP 244A), and the Disposable Pin Tool (VP 246, VP 246A, VP 246A-NS, VP 246-NS, VP 248 or VP 248-NS).
The robotic version of the Disposable Pin Tool System requires the Robotic Adapter (VP 240R) to be attached to a V&P Robotic Mounting Plate (see Robotic Pin Tools) specifically designed for the robot. The other needed parts include the Disposable Pin Tool Docking Station (VP 550D) and the Disposable Pin Tool Removal Station (VP 245R-1A).
For our customers with special requirements, our sterile disposable pin tools are a cost-effective solution for replicating genomic libraries and increasing throughput. Simply use the adaptor to load the sterile pin tool on the docking station and remove it. No washing, no blotting, just dip, dunk and dispose.
